SUPPORT SCHOLARSHIPS

FACTS:

Each year the Cobb Schools Foundation Scholarship seeks financial support that will provide two (2) students from each of the seventeen (17) high schools in Cobb County School District with a $2,000 scholarship. These scholarships are provided to students who have a proven track record of academic effort, work experience, community service and leadership roles.

The Cobb Schools Foundation has awarded over $500,000 in scholarships to high school seniors since 1999. These scholarships are possible due to the generosity of numerous businesses and members of the community who wish to give back to the school district through a scholarship fund.

How Your Gift Helps.

Each gift of support will go directly towards paving the way for a student's future academic success.

"I truly think that I can make a difference in children's lives, just as how I found someone who decided to take a chance on me maybe I can take a chance on a child and make a change in their life for the better." - Laura Anne Lim Sang, Scholarship Recipient

High School Swimming and Me
“At the age of seven, I began to dedicate the greater portion of my free time to the most unforgiving sport of swimming. I say “unforgiving” because one one-hundredth of a second can differentiate 1st from 2nd place, and a week out of the pool will certainly affect performance in the next race. Most mornings I woke up before five o’clock for practice before school. Immediately after school, I attended a tiresome practice. At the end of each day, a few hours were spared to complete my homework and other responsibilities. Swimming has definitely taught me lessons of time management and discipline in the pool and in the classroom.” - Nora Gellona-Wagoner

Leslie Marie Walker and Ned Castleberry

Educational Scholarship

The Leslie Marie Walker and Ned Castleberry Educational Scholarship was established through a generous $200,000 gift from longtime Smyrna resident Ned Castleberry in memory of beloved Campbell High School English teacher Leslie Marie Walker. This scholarship honors Leslie’s lasting impact on her students and community by supporting up to eight graduating Campbell seniors each year with $5,000 scholarships. Recipients will demonstrate strong character, financial need, and a passion for pursuing a degree in English, Education, Journalism, or Communications at a public Georgia college, university, or technical school. This lasting tribute continues Leslie’s legacy and reflects Mr. Castleberry’s deep appreciation for the community that shaped his own success.
