Recipients will demonstrate strong character, financial need, and a passion for pursuing a degree in English, Education, Journalism, or Communications at a public Georgia college, university, or technical school. The Cobb Schools Foundation is honored to present the Wilmer Hicks Memorial Scholarships, a tribute to a man whose life embodied hard work, education, and service. Mr. Hicks believed deeply in the power of opportunity and investing in young people with determination and character. Each year, two $500 awards are given—one to an Osborne High School senior pursuing Business or Finance and one to a Campbell High School senior pursuing Culinary Arts. Students must maintain a weighted 3.0+ GPA, strong attendance, and submit a short essay describing their passion for their chosen field. Pochino Italy was founded in 2021 by Giuseppe from Rome, Andrea from Venice, and their American partners, Jennifer and Chris, with a mission to bring authentic Italian flavors to Kennesaw, GA. Rooted in tradition, hospitality, and family, “Pochino” means “a little bit”—a little bit of Italy in every bite. Using fresh local produce and imported Italian ingredients, they’ve created a healthier, community-centered take on Italian dining.
